i remember when i corrected this guy when he used the term “colored.”  he pulled the “but my stepdad is black and he doesn’t like to use certain terms. and i’m part Cherokee. i don’t believe there’s a definite term to identify people.  i’m down for the struggles of colored people” …despite the fact that most activists of color fight for the term “people of color” as a way to politically identify themselves.
